This is a collection of all the rods that I have built while working with Bobby Hyrszko at Grumpys Tackle. Rod building itself is its own art form and makes it extremely rewarding to catch a fish on something you have created.
St. Croix Legend Xtreme: This was my first build ever and I’m forever happy using it on fluke, stripers, and blackfish. A very durable rod paired with a 3000 sized reel makes the ultimate inshore combo.
ODM Evolution: This is my second rod that I built my 10 foot ODM Evolution. It is a powerhouse surf rod for big stripers in the surf. My favorite time to use it is during the Fall Run when we have big stripers hitting topwater out past the bar because this rod can reach that distance!
ODM Evolution: This is the second Evolution I have built however this one is the 8 footer. I use it for shore fluking and stripers and bluefish in the backwaters. This decorative wrap, the snowflake, is by far my favorite one that I have put on a rod.
Grumpy’s Allstar Rod: Grumpy gifted me this old Allstar rod that I rewrapped with titanium guides and put an open wrap on. It has a Grumpy’s logo on it to honor my friend and his gift to me. This rod is another fluke slayer and excellent to use when pitching up current.
ODM Frontier X: A hefty boat rod, the ODM Frontier X rated medium paired with a Saragosa 6K can handle big stripers and small 60lb tuna. First time making my own cork grips from cork rings.
ODM Evolution: This is the ODM Evolution 9 footer. I had it painted Hot Rod Black and did my first ever Paracord grips with a Turks Head Knot.
